UFC 248 Israel Adesanya vs Yoel Romero Fight Pick & Preview

ufc 248 free fight pick preview
UFC 248 will feature two of the scariest fighters in the UFC's middleweight division. The current champion Israel Adesanya has shown to be a surgical striker picking his opponents apart.  Yoel Romero is a tank that's put some hurt on opponents and has just barely missed his opportunity to hold that championship belt.  Romero gets another chance, and Adesanya gets a chance to prove he's not overrated!  Let's take a closer look at these two fighters, and then I'll make my UFC 248 Israel Adesanya vs Yoel Romero fight pick!

Israel Adesanya is coming into UFC 248 with an overall MMA record of 18-0.  His stand up is slick and arguably the best in the division.  He's beat everyone the UFC has put in front of him.  Adesanya is a finisher!  He has 14 KO/TKO's on his resume including the KO that officially made him the UFC undisputed middleweight champion.

While Adesanya is undefeated, he's had a relatively easy road to the top.  Many experts believe he's overrated. He's only had 7 fights in the UFC and many of those have been versus journeymen.  The win that got him the title fight and really put him on the map was a boring fight were he barely squeaked out a decision victory over an aging legend who at the time was doing more losing than winning in Anderson Silva.  This fight with Yoel Romero is an opportunity to start racking up some serious wins and respect from the naysayers.

Yoel Romero is 13-4 in MMA.  He started relatively late in MMA but his wrestling credentials are the best in the UFC.  Interestingly enough, it's his demolishing KO power that really put him on the radar. Romero was climbing up the middleweight division when it was stacked!  He's fought and beat champions. He's challenged for the belt but come up slightly short.  His time is running out and this will probably be his last chance at it!

Yoel Romero is a tank!  His wrestling allows him to launch missiles without fearing being taken down.  And when those chingasos land, it's usually lights out!  He has 11 KO/TKO victories, that 85% of his total victories.  He's scary, but he's also 42, a tank, but an aging tank.

Look for this fight to start slow.  Adesanya is highly skilled and slick stand up fighter that knows how to pick his spots.  He's not going to get into a firefight with Romero.  Romero picks his spots as well.  He has a big powerful engine that requires a lot of fuel, and Romero has burned out in some of his fights.

Look for Romero to find some areas to sprint and explode.  I'll be betting that one shot will be all it takes to change the fight, and I believe Romero can land that shot!

I'll be picking the huge underdog Romero to shock the world tonight!
